iGold App Reviews

Close but no cigar!

Jeez! U guys showed just enough screens shots to make a person think you knew what you were doing. I wanted something less cluttered than the free Kitco app so I DLd your app. Very Disappointing! In a perfect world I would like to see the following: A separate screen for each metal in a currency or two of my choice, selecting each metal should be completed with the swipe motion similar to the home page apps. turning the iphone sideways switches to chart view of each metal with 1d to 5y timeframes. (similar to the very handy Bloomberg app)

The best precious metal price app

Ok this is the best one I have on my iPod as the tittle says and the reason why is because its easy to calculate the prices of gold/silver/platinum base on the amount of gold 9 12 22 and 24k and based on wight. I love that feature. The easy to convert spot price to other currency so you know how much is the price in cad, usd and many more. I dont know why the first reviewer gave this a 1 star out of 5 but I have the free kitco app I like this one more

The Best Ive Had So Far!

While no app will ever completely satisfy every user, this is the best precious metals app that I personally have encountered to date. It does take a while to learn how to navigate the site to its full advantage but it contains everything I need, and more. I particularly like the simultaneous display of prices in a multitude of different currencies.

Best App

One of the best apps out there. You guys should make an app like iBullion it is another good app there out but they stopped updating it.

good

thanks cool App. Please Update!! I want to use this app for iPad version. Please, Please!!

Too many misers

As far as Im concerned, this app works great, and is certainly useful to me since it provides the spot prices I want to watch, continuously updated 24 hours a day. The Stocks interface is ok, but the spot gold price code does not work, at least not on my iPhone. And Ill gladly pay a few bucks to avoid either routinely changing a futures contract code or constantly going to the internet for price quotes. If the Bloomberg app provides metal (or currency or energy) prices, I cant find them. Sure, I got iGold for the new improved price of $7.99, but I for one would be more than willing to pay $9.99 for any interface that provided currency or energy prices as seamlessly as iGold provides metal prices. And I cant wait for the updates.

As advertised, works great - easily customizable

Lots of haters about this app because they dont want to pay as much for it or because they will "code it themselves." - Fact is the app is exactly as advertised - nice interface, works well, very convenient - it is a little more than what I would have like to paid - but there isnt a good alternative in the app store....

Worth the $

Everyone is complaining about the price, but whats $7.99 if your buying and selling gold. Sure its easy to go to kitco or any other website and get the price but this app updates every 30secs or as much as you want.

Hell I bought it.

I thought it would be worth it, if only it had the price of Copper. Which is what I really need!

Palladium & Charts?

For 7.99, it should at least including PALLADIUM and LIVE & HISTORICAL CHARTS.

Works very well

I love this app. Im clicking on it all the time to see how my metals are doing. I would love to see palladium added however. One of my most frequently used apps. With positions in the metals markets its a nice, seemless app that does the job. $7.99 for it? Thats less than 1 ounce of gold moves in a typical day. Im venturing the guess that most traders dont care one whit about the cost.

Nice App - Could Be Better

Works well. Pretty. Worth the cost. It would far more valuable if it displayed the daily charts (including palladium) in addition to the prices. Prices alone require me to remember how they relate to other prices in time, but charts show me at a glance. Keep up the good work.

At a Glance Convenience

I bought this app even after reading other negative reviews about getting this kind of information for free. Yes, it is true, you can. I went to the websites and they do have the info. However, it is super convenient to tap once on this app and have the info instantly at a glance.

Worth the money

Its pricy, but its worth it. Now I dont have to keep refreshing the Kitco website on my work PC. Palladium quote would be nice though. Still gets 5 stars from me. I really like this app! If u dabble in precious metal futures this app is a must!

Seems good

Does what it does! Just if the programmer can add a function to track your metal purchases so you can figure your average that would be cool.

Worth it to me

Some people would actually pay 50 dollars for a carton of cigarettes. I wouldnt pay a dime. Things are only worth what YOU are willing to pay for them. And it differs for everyone, and everyones valuation is correct - for them.

great, elegant app worth every penny

first, anybody who thinks $7.99 is a lot of money is seriously delusional. I mean, $7.99 is a lot of money for a piece of Dubble Bubble, sure, but its not a lot of money for a pretty and very useful iPhone application that beautifies, clarifies and takes all the effort out of a task some of us perform numerous times a day (and that does all that on a platform you can carry around in a holster on your belt). if you dont think this app is worth the price, then dont buy it - which means you cant use it, which in turn means youre incapable of writing an informed review of it, so just keep your mouth shut. : P if, however, you have use for the functionality this app provides, you will not find that functionality in a clearer, handier or more elegant package anywhere. not even in my all-time favorite iPhone app, Bloomberg. Bloomberg has commodities prices now, yes, but you have to do a bunch of tapping and dragging to get to them (if theres a way to add commodities to your portfolio page, I havent found it), and they dont update once youre there. by contrast, one tap on iGolds icon is all it takes to see gold, silver and platinum prices that update themselves before your eyes at whatever interval youve specified. if Bloombergs approach is sufficient to your needs, then skip this app, but if youd appreciate much easier access to spot prices and for them to keep updating themselves once youve arrived, iGolds your baby.

More metals please

Please just know that you are only getting an index on 3 precious metals and not all metal pricing

worth the cost

Does exactly what I wanted: reports current gold, silver, and platinum prices; graphs 1 day, 3 day, 1 month, 6 month, and 1 year prices; calculates percentage change; and provides support for different currencies.

Worth it.

The low overall rating is undeserved and, I imagine, is mostly because of A.As (App accumulators) who would happily pay 99 cents for this but probably dont even know what a troy ounce is. If you are looking at this for a real reason i.e were looking for PM quotes, get it. Youll be content. But seriously, Palladium functionality is a must, por favor.
